The event hosts 200 teams with 20 different age and ability divisions including boys and girls grades 4th through high school, collegiate men and women and senior groups. The two day event will capture the attention of 4000 to 5000 spectators complete with concessions and vendors. With 20 games going on simultaneously, there is more food than even the most ardent fan could gulp down in a two day sitting.
Thanks to the continued financial and volunteer support of the Tulalip Resort Casino, Alfy’s, Brown & Brown Insurance, and others, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County have continued to grow this wonderful summer event. With all proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County, it has certainly made a positive impact to the kids of our community at 14 clubs in Snohomish County.
Volunteer workers are as critical to the event as the basketballs and the weather. While paid officials from Snohomish County Officials Association keep the peace on the courts, the 150 volunteer score keepers, result runners, and tournament assistants make the difference. It is these kind folks, both thru sponsorships or volunteering, that have made this tournament special enough to get front page news coverage in The Everett Herald, The Marysville Globe, and The Arlington Times.
