Young Lancers Players & Parents Expectations

Players Expectations:

1. Make your bed when you wake up. Start your day off on a positive note.
2. Academics are the priority; you must strive for academic excellence.

3. Health is also a priority; make the right choices and eat healthy!
4. We expect you to give 100% of your effort and attention.
5. We expect you to respect yourself, coaches, teammates, officials, and opponents.

Playing Time:
Playing time is earned through practice performance and attendance. Always give 100% effort in practice and in games. If a player feels that he/she needs more playing time, it is the duty of the player to approach the coach and ask what he/she needs to improve on. Practice time is also done at home. Practice your fundamentals outside of the practice time you get at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad.

Parental Expectations:

We believe the parents’ roles are to be our biggest fans and offer positive encouragement to all members of the team. Parents play a vital role in supporting our athletes and in the teams overall success. Exemplary sportsmanship will be expected from parents toward our players, coaches, officials, and our opponents. Please let the coaches-coach, players-play, and parents-support. Parents coaching from the sidelines during games will absolutely NOT be tolerated. Please respect a 24 hour "cooling off" period prior to contacting the Head Coach or Athletic Director regarding any situations you wish to address. Head coaches will document any actions detrimental to the team. If the actions are a trend, it will lead to a coach/parents/athletic director meeting and can ultimately lead to the removal of your son/daughter.
