  1. Have fun.

  2. Take your time and have fun. This is not a race. There is NO prize for finishing first. Be safe and respectful to other vehicles and participants.

  3. Each participant can preregister online at www.bloomfieldkids.org  or register the day of the poker run at Desert Rose Resort from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 pm.  If you register the day of the event, please bring cash!

  4. Each participant must sign a Liability Waiver, and Agreement for Poker Run and Car Show Rules.

  5. Participants may NOT purchase multiple hands; each participant may have only ONE HAND.

  6. You must visit all of the stops listed to get your cards.

  7. You will have an opportunity to purchase additional cards after you arrive at your final stop – the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomfield. Additional cards are $5 each with a maximum of 2 allowed per person. Please bring cash for this transaction.

  8. The winning hand is determined by standard poker hand rankings. Even if you purchase additional cards, you can only use your best 5 cards. There are no wild cards. There are no “5 of a kind” hands. In the event that there is a tie, there will be a play off in a new 5 card poker draw. High hand wins.  You must be present to win!

    Poker Hand Rankings

Royal Flush:          Run of sequential cards from Ten to Ace, with all cards of the same suit.

Straight Flush:       Run of sequential cards, all cards of the same suit, but not Ace high.

Four of a Kind:      Four cards of the same rank e.g. four Aces, four Kings, etc…

Full House:            Three cards of the same rank plus a pair, e.g. three Aces and a pair of Kings.

Flush:                     Five cards all of the same suit.

Straight (Run):       Five sequential cards, not of the same suit.

Three of a Kind:     Three cards of the same rank e.g. three Aces. Three Kings, etc…

Two Pair:               Two sets of pairs e.g. a pair of Aces and a pair of Kings.

Pair:                       Two cards of the same rank e.g. two Aces, two Kings, etc…

High Card:             If you have none of the above, then the highest value card in your hand plays.

    Notes:

  • Aces count high for all hands, e.g. a pair of Aces beats a pair of Kings.

  • In a straight, an Ace can count low (e.g. A, 2, 3, 4, 5) OR high (e.g. T, J, Q, K, A)   but NOT BOTH (e.g. Q, K, A, 2, 3) is NOT a straight.

  • If any card drawn is a duplicate of a card previously drawn, that card must be re-drawn. No hand can have duplicate cards (e.g. you cannot have more than one King of Hearts in your hand).

  • Prizes are awarded on the poker hand rankings outlined above, not on speed.

We want all participants to have fun and remain safe, so please take your time on the run.
