BGCB 3-ON-3 Basketball Tournament Code of Conduct
 
The BGCB 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Code of Conduct sets out the basic principles to guide all players, parents, spectators, and participants for this fundraising event.  It is not intended to cover every situation that may arise.  All players, parents, spectators, and participants must follow these principles and conduct themselves accordingly.  Those who violate the standards in this Code of Conduct may be subject to disciplinary action, including possible individual and/or team disqualification and/or removal from the BGCB 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament site if a staff and/or member of the BGCB 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Committee determines that such action is warranted under any circumstances.

 

The BGCB 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is a fundraiser to benefit the youth sports and recreation of the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomfield, New Mexico.  The BGCB 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Committee requests that all players, parents, spectators, and participants comply with the BGCB 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament’s Rules and Regulations (the “Rules”) and the code of conduct set forth in this code.  All players, parents, spectators, and participants must respect and obey the following:

 

  1. Demonstrate good sportsmanship before, during and after games.
  2. Be responsible for your own behavior, the behavior of your teammates, and the conduct of your team’s fans and family members.
  3. Respect the game, employees, volunteers, and court monitors and communicate with them in an appropriate manner.
  4. Recognize the value and importance of our staff, volunteers, and court monitors.  They give of their time and resources so that we may make this an annual event.
  5. Please help your teammates, parents, and fans understand the philosophy behind the BGCB 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament so they can watch and enjoy the game.  Remember, players, parents, spectators, and participants are there to encourage and support their own team and NOT to degrade or abuse the opposition in any way.
  6. Violence and threatening behavior will not be tolerated – foul play, fighting, intimidating behavior or foul language is not permitted.
  7. Players, parents, spectators, and participants will not consume alcohol and/or tobacco products while on tournament site.
