Jameel L. McClain, native of Philadelphia, PA,  is an Linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens . He was signed by the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He played college football at  Syracuse University.  Jameel McClain originally signed with the Ravens as a rookie free agent on 5/9/08.

COMMUNITY
Since arriving in Baltimore, McClain has forged a strong relationship with the Salvation Army Baltimore Area Command...Jameel, who spent a period of his lifetime living out of a Salvation Army shelter, makes a conscious effort to give back to the organization. In 2010, he hosted his inaugural Thanksgiving food drive, and as its spokesperson, once again kicked off the annual Red Kettle Campaign. Promoted the Ravens' Play 60 initiatives by hosting kickoff assemblies for students at Manchester Elementary School and Garrison Forest School. Was the guest reader for children at the Festival of Trees, an annual fundraiser for the Kennedy Krieger Institute. In Dec. 2010, he joined teammates to provide a holiday dinner and gifts for 100 students from Lockerman Bundy Elementary School. Annually supports the Ravens' community initiatives including the annual women's event A Purple Evening (2009 and 2010). In 2011, he host the first Jameel McClain Easter Egg Hunt & Jameel McClain Footbal & Fitness Clinic for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County in Edgewood, Maryland.

CAREER
• Posted a career129 tackles over four years
• Established a franchise record with 2 safeties in a season (sack of then-Oakland QB JaMarcus Russell and a blocked punt) as a rookie in 2008
• Recorded 33 special teams tackles in 2009
• Was the only rookie free agent to make the Ravens' opening-day roster in 2008

HIGH SCHOOL, PERSONAL
Prepped at George Washington (Philadelphia, PA) HS, where he posted 230 tackles, 22 sacks, 8 FFs and 13 FRs in his career...Posted 111 tackles, 3 sacks, 4 FFs, and had 5 FRs as a captain in his senior season...Earned All-Conference, All-Area, All-Northeast, All-State honors and was his team's defensive MVP as a senior. Was a grade school boxer, training in the city's gyms and competing in Golden Gloves tournaments around the area. He compiled a 6-1 record. His one loss was by decision. Jameel's first pair of boxing trunks were given to him by Smokin' Joe Frazier.
