About Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County

As a Movement united for the last 100 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America have changed the destinies of millions of children. In the last two decades alone, Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County have served more than 37,500 youth in Harford County and beyond. We developed world-class programs in education, technology, diversity and career exploration. We made a commitment to reach those with the greatest obstacles and least opportunities in life.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County was established in 1989 by a group of concerned citizens in the Aberdeen area. In its 22 year history, it has grown to 4 sites throughout Harford County (Aberdeen, Bel Air, Edgewood, Havre de Grace) and now serves more than 450 children and teens on a daily basis. Our mission is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Club is open to all youth ages 6 to 18 for a membership of $12 per year and provides positive youth development programs in five core areas: Character and Leadership Development; Health & Life Skills; Education & Career Development; the Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation.

As we embark on the next decade of service, we affirm our core promise. It sums up the values that have served us well for two decades. Our core promise to Harford County’s youth: to provide a safe environment and have a positive impact on their lives. By serving more children with greater contributions to their development, we will create a brighter future for youth.
