2011 All State Training Information

The 2011 Virginia All State Training will be held over 2 days in Richmond Virginia.

Day 1: On June 10, 2011 there will be three (3) Concurrent all-day sessions from which to choose.
Session 1: Applied Guidance
                   Expand and strengthen your ability to provide guidance and discipline to BGC members.
Session 2: Developing Positive Relations with Youth
                  Learn the information and cultivate the skills needed to develop, maintain and strengthen positive relationships within the Club.
Session 3: Developing Superior Work Teams
                  Cultivate the ability to identify the elements of superior work teams, the role team leaders must play, and learn to apply this knowledge to your workplace.

Day 2: On June 11 there will be five (5) Tracks over the course of the day, with 3 sessions per track as well a lunch presentation.

The tracks are:
I:  A) Working in the BGCA movement:  B)Youth of the Year  C) Keeping the Club Culture Alive 

II: A) New Professional Orientation   B) Attracting & Retaining Youth  C) Every Member Every Year Graduation Strategy

III:  A) Fun in the Club  B) Bully Plan  C) Mentoring in the Boys & Girls Clubs

IV: A) Power Hour  B) Internet Media Safety  C) The Arts

V:    A) Human Resource Best Practice - In a round table discussion learn from Club professionals regarding human resource best practices. Managers as well as line staff will    learn the art of hiring, training, redirecting and rewarding staff. The only way to drive impact is providing a comprehensive Human Resource plan.     

 

 

       B) Impact Tools Round Table – Leave this session with tools and advice on how to start or enhance your ability to measure program impact.

 

 

      C) Gang Prevention and other evidenced based programs - The next level programming learn about needs and interest based programming, blind case management and how to build collaborations that will enhance your program. Learn how to become outcome driven.
