Cliff Russell

Cliff Russell is President and CEO of Bridge Dataworks, LLC. He is a native of the Washington metro area, and the majority owner of Bridge Dataworks. He is responsible for all aspects of the business, with emphasis on customer and employee relationships. As a manager, Cliff has attracted and retained the top talent in his field, exceeding customer expectations by developing and supporting the best qualities in his team.

While working on the XTE, ASCA, and ROSAT missions during his tenure at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, Cliff developed a strong interest in data storage and archiving technologies. He then held key roles in developing the IT and multimedia infrastructures of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department of the University of Maryland–College Park. Additionally, he was a crucial player in architecting, procuring, and deploying all major IT infrastructure projects in the department. Cliff has also been involved in the technology development of the Hinman CEO’s E-Dorm program, and he participates in several campus IT projects, most recently the development of a full-campus Active Directory.

Cliff’s strength is his ability as a communicator and motivator. A skilled project manager, he has a well-established reputation as an “idea guy,” but also possesses the rare ability to shift gears and successfully implement those ideas. He is viewed by his peers as a technologist and true collaborator. His belief is that the best results are achieved by using technology where it makes sense, not implementing it for its own sake. He has a reputation for innovation in system architecture, which he credits to his creative background as a visual artist.

Cliff is a devoted husband and father of two, he and his wife Valerie have also taken on raising three young cousins; this making them an active, happy and noisy family of seven.  As an ordained minister, one of his passions is international missions. He has traveled to India as part of a team bringing medical support to remote, underserved areas of the country. In addition to his technological expertise, Cliff has been an internationally published photographer of more than 25 years.
