Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence:
  • Mission: To enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
  • Each day 1,200 Lawrence youth attend a Boys & Girls Club after school program.  The program serves students from 14 elementary schools and three junior highs.
  • The staff provides children with activities designed to capture their interests, teach skills and build supportive relationships- which provide the opportunity to communicate rules and expectations; take meaningful challenges; build self-confidence and self-esteem; and offer hope and opportunity.

Headmaster Salon:
  • Has served the Lawrence community for over 36 years in the historic Lucy Hobbs-Taylor house.  With our professional team of stylists providing hair, skin, massage and make-up treatments for Headmasters' clientele.
  • Through our joint efforts with Aveda we've dedicated to environmental sustainability both in and outside of the beauty industry.  This includes our large community garden- the only of its kind in downtown.
  • As a mainstay downtown business Headmasters continually seeks to give back to non-profit organizations in need.  Some of our previous events have benefited: Matter of Trust's oil spill hair mat program, Douglas County Aids Project, Harvesters Community Food Network, Rainbow World Fund's Haitian Relief, Worldwide Impact Now's Burma Relief Fund and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
