EVENT: Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach’s 58th Annual Gala Dinner and Auction: "Flappers & Dappers"
DATE: Saturday, May 4, 2013 / 3:30 pm-10:00 pm
WHERE: The Grand Long Beach Event Center – 4101 E. Willow Street, 90815
QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience working at an auction or fundraising event is helpful but not required.
DRESS CODE: Black slacks/dress pants/skirt and white collared, button-up shirt. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for standing or walking. This is a black tie affair so no jeans or casual wear please.
Dinner will be provided for all event volunteers.
Volunteer Assignments:
Saturday, May 4, 2013 (Event Staff: 3:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)
All event staff volunteers are asked to arrive at the venue on the day of the event no later than 3:30 p.m. (2 hours before event) for a brief run-through and instructions, and are asked to stay until the event closes (at approximately 10:00 p.m.)
Silent Auction Support
Assistance at silent auction areas: manning silent auction bid sheets, answering guest questions.
Live Auction Support
Live Auction Spotters: Spotters will assist the auctioneer during the live auction by pointing out bidders, record winning bid and obtain signature from winning bidder, pass completed bid sheets to runners
Live Auction Runners: Runners will collect a live auction bid sheet from spotters then quickly take signed bid sheet to check out for processing. Once payment is processed runners will then deliver the invoice and certificate to the winning bidder.
Porters: assist guests with items they’ve won to their cars
Take-Down: clean up after event
