Colonel Gregory R. McClinton
is the recently appointed Garrison Commander of Aberdeen Proving Ground.  Colonel McClinton works closely with Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County in addition to other community organizations in the Harford County area.  Being an alumni of Boys & Girls Clubs himself, Colonel McClinton is an excellent role model for Club youth and proves that Great Futures Start Here.

Colonel McClinton was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Quartermaster Corps in August, 1987 upon completion of the US Army Officer Candidate School in Fort Benning, Georgia.


Colonel McClinton's assignments include Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer, Headquarters and Support and Bravo Company's, 101st Division Support Command, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Battalion S-4, 9-101st Aviation Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Chief of Services, US Military Training Mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Brigade Executive and Operations Officer, 6th ROTC Brigade, US Army Cadet Command, Savannah, Georgia; Executive Officer, 262nd Quartermaster Battalion and Chief of Officer Professional Development, Quartermaster Center and School, Fort Lee, Virginia; Executive Officer, 3rd US Army Special Troops Battalion, 3rd US Army, Coalition Forces Land Component Command (CLFCC), Camp Doha, Kuwait; Professor of Military Science, Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Garrison and Installation Commander, Fort Greely, Alaska; Executive Officer to the Deputy Commanding General, Installation Management Command, Alexandria, Virginia.. His Joint Staff Experience includes an assignment as Chief of Staff, Directorate for Operations, Plans, Logistics and Engineering, US Joint Forces Command and Joint Staff Deputy Directorate for Joint Force Coordination (J31), the Joint Staff.


COL McClinton has earned a BA, in Marketing, from Towson State University; MS in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University; MS in National Research Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University.

His military education includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic and Advanced Courses; Army Command and General Staff College; and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University.

COL McClinton is a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and is married to the former Vicky Arnette Saylor. The McClinton's have two children.
