All-Star Basketball Challenge

Boys & Girls Club to host its 21th annual All-Star Basketball Challenge!  sponsored by The 21st annual Boys & Girls Club All-Star Basketball Challenge will take place on Friday evening, March 22nd 2013, at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford located at the corner of Jenney and North Street in New Bedford. This basketball challenge features 48 boy and girls high school all-star basketball players in a series of basketball games. The highlight of the event will once again feature boys and girl all-stars from the South Coast Conference and New Bedford High playing against boys and girl all-stars from the Old Colony League, Eastern Athletic Conference, Durfee High School and Westport. The high school games will be preceded by a New Bedford Rising Stars 7th and 8th grade vs Wareham Rising Stars 7th & 8th grade game. A college scholarship is awarded to the MVP of each high school game. All proceeds from this event help to ensure that the Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford/Wareham continues to provide a curriculum in career development, academic enrichment, prevention alternatives to drug, alcohol and violence, as well as social and recreational activities.
