school verses a national average of 67%
If
we do not focus on encouraging and providing post secondary education
for our youth, then we have not allowed them or our communities to reach
their full potential and in many cases have simply postponed the
problem until after high school.
In
Arkansas alone over 10,000 children drop out of high school every year
which results in lower paying jobs, less taxes, increased crime and
increased government support. The loss of potential income over a
lifetime for those 10,000 students is over $2,600,000,000!
Working
with members ages 6-12 and 13-18, we combat problems that contribute to
low high school graduation rates by implementing localized activities
and tactics, emphasizing more intentional integration of programs across
core program areas and sharing findings of more rigorous evaluation
efforts.
