SportsFest 2016 will support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City Sports L·A·B (Lifestyle, Attitude, Behavior) program - 10 formal sports leagues for Club members, plus healthy lifestyles programming and exposure to careers in the sports and health industries.
Help us literally change lives through improved fitness, a positive use of free time, reduced stress, and a focus on the future for nearly 1,000 Club youth every day. Your support will help boys and girls get off the sidelines and in on the action – and ensure the continued impact of Boys & Girls Clubs programming throughout our community.
When: Wednesday, July 20 - 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Where: The North Club at Arrowhead Stadium
Featuring a Personal Interview with Herschel Walker
We're thrilled to have Herschel Walker join us for this event - Heisman Trophy winning, professional football player, sprinter, Olympic bobsledder and mixed martial artist. One of seven children in a blue collar family, Walker, who says that as a child he was overweight, also overcame a speech impediment to find success both on and off the field...and the result was life-changing.
Dress: Dress for SportsFest 2016 is casual, and every guest will receive a ticket to the 1:10 p.m. Kansas City Royals vs. Cleveland Indians game that afternoon.
Why: It's all about kids who need our help! The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City serves nearly 800 youth per day, and our goal is to reach 8,000 members this year. For most of them, who live amidst crime and violence, sports can be life-changing; a reason to get up in the morning...to go to school...and to keep dreaming. 100% of the proceeds from SportsFest stay RIGHT HERE in our community and help local Boys & Girls Clubs youth be more active now, and more prepared for the future.
