Family & Children's Center:
Evidence Based Practices Seminar Series

Domestic Violence: A Holistic approach to treatment

From the batterer to the victim and for the children caught in the middle, it is critical that treatment of domestic violence incorporate a holistic approach to end the cycle of abuse. This seminar will discuss the use of our Batterers Intervention Program for male and female batterers, as well as group treatment for the adult female victims of domestic violence and the programs created to help children that witness this violence.

Why Evidence-Based?

Everywhere we turn the issue of “best practices” and working in an "evidence-based” manner continues to grow. As professionals, we know that we must integrate knowledge of “what works” based on research about the terrain of the child, adolescent, or family with whom we are working. The Evidence-Based Practices: Educational Series has been developed to address and provide information on “what works”. Behavioral health continues to move increasingly towards accountability for the choices made in treatment modalities for children and adolescents. Effective and evidence-based practices are essential.
